-start [<target> ... ] [-boot]{[-async]|[verbose]}

Starts the selected components. <target> specifies a component or category. If <target> isn't used, all components are started. If -boot is used, only components that start at boot time are started.

Thanks but which components are only started at boot time? The cmd I found in the /etc/systemd/system/OVCtrl.service script uses: /opt/OV/bin/ovc -start -boot.

Thus this imply that not all components will be started?

When agent processes start, they are controlled by ovcd (control deamon).  The process is configured by some control XML files.  The -boot option is used by the parameter StartAtBootTime within these files.  When set to FALSE the component is not started at boot time. The default value is TRUE and the componet is started.

For example if you look at /var/opt/OV/conf/ctrl/opcle.xml you'll find:
<?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8' standalone='yes'?>
<ovc:OvCtrl
..
<ovc:StartAtBootTime>true</ovc:StartAtBootTime>
..

And this is how and where it's used.  It's something you might use if you are developing your own subagents.  I don't think it's an option which would normally by used or at least I've never used it.
