I need some confirmation on the security of "access credentials" stored in SiteScope's remote server configuration profiles.
The Deployment manual provides the below paragraph under, "Hardening the SiteScope Platform" but because of the context, this could be read as relating to SiteScope users only.
so can you please confirm that this same level of security is also applied to remote server credentials.
All SiteScope passwords are encrypted using a method called Triple Data Encryption Standard
(TDES). TDES applies the Data Encryption Algorithm on each 64-bit block of text three successive
times, using either two or three different keys. As a result, it is extremely difficult for unauthorized
users to reproduce the original password.
