  • Few things to check on your CO server:

    - Is the port 383 open in the firewall?

    - Is process ovbbccb listening on port 383? (netstat -nap)

    - Is the service pvcd.pvc.rrListener.JSONRemoteRequestHandler registered on ovbbccb? (bbcutil -reg)

    - Is the process pvcd running? (ovc -status)

    Thanks,

    Thierry.

  • Hi Thierry

Thanks for the prompt response. Below are the details.

    - Is the port 383 open in the firewall? -- Yes

    - Is process ovbbccb listening on port 383? (netstat -nap) - Yes

    - Is the service pvcd.pvc.rrListener.JSONRemoteRequestHandler registered on ovbbccb? (bbcutil -reg) -Screenshot attached

    - Is the process pvcd running? (ovc -status) - Sceenshot attached

  • Hello Hiral,

The process pvcd implements the service that vPVWinVirtCollector.exe tries to access. Since this process aborted, it probably explains your problem. You can restart pvcd with:

    # ps -ef | grep -i vidaemon

--> if the above shows a running java process, kill this process with:

    # kill <PID>

    Then start pvcd with:

    # ovc -start pvcd

If you see more aborts of pvcd, you may want to open a support case.

    Thanks,

    Thierry.

  • Hi Thierry.

Thanks for guidance. Yes even after running the command, i am unable to start the service

Support case is already open and i will update this on case. MEanwhie attaching the log while we try to start the service

    Thanks

    Hiral

  • Hello,

A segmentation fault in the XPL library - not so common.

If you installed OA on this CO instance, did you ensure a compatible version with your CO server. Obviously, we would need full version information.

A stacktrace of the pvcd process may help us, which means you will need to start pvcd (hence ovcd) with ulimit set accordingly.

It is best to pursue this through your support case.

    Thanks,

    Thierry.

  • Hi Thierry

We are able to resolve the issue. The service was not up becuase the Vertica was not properly installed due to permission issues on HOME directory.

We have reinstalled giving required permission and it is up and running now.

Thank you so much for guiding in the right direction.

    Hiral Desai
