Multiple probes with RUM

Hello

What happens if I use a RUM Client Monitor (Browser Probe) and a RUM Sniffer Probe for the same application and they capture the same pages?

Lets say for example that the Client Monitor javascript is on all pages.

Are two sessions recorded? is data duplicated for this configuration ?

Thanks
Sergio

  • Hi Sergio,

Sniffer Probe is sniffing traffic from the Server side.

Browser Probe gets data with the help of Client Browser API.

Actually data is not duplicated from this point of view, but from the client's perspective   - yes, one client hit will be matched twice.

You can try to configure multitired application in RUM: CM App as a front end and WebTier as a Sniffer App - in that case you will avoid duplication if configuration.

    Best regards, Alexey.
