Update/Enrich Location Manager in BSM

Dear Team,

We want to update/Enrich Location manager in BSM with IP address and locations. Can anyone suggest me the download link for XML or CSV file containing details of all cities and their IP address so that we can develop the desired XML file and upload it via jmx-console?

Regards,

Bharat

  • your question is not clear. please provide more info as for the use case and what are you trying to achieve.

there is internal mapping between IP and Location, but it is stored in the DB and used only by RUM.

if you want to create Locations in RTSM, they dont have to have IP associated with them. if you want to know the XML format, just create few locations in the Locations Manager UI and export them via jmx-console...

  • Hi Asaf,

Actually here we have deployed RUM Client Monitor probe to monitor Android based mobile applications so the user base accessing those applications is from all over the world. Currently under Location Manager in BSM there is no location defined and because of this we are getting unknown value under location column in RUM Session Analyzer report. Therefore we need the XML file containing location details along with their IP address.

  • did you check the checkbox to allow RUM create locations for that application?

as i mentioned before, locations will be created automatically by RUM. you dont have to create locations for your IPs unless the IPs are internal (and not from the internet).

you cannot modify the OOTB default mapping. it is in the DB and there is no API for modifying it.
