Running Software CI type is using Wheel Icon in Top View and the CI status changing according to the events generated on that particular CI.Instead of a simple wheel icon, if wheel can be rotating in the TOP view until the technical process(Ex: weblogic) goes down(not running) then it would be more meaningful and gives good user experience to the customers.

So the request is to make the wheel rotating till it receives Down alert on that particular CI.

  • Hi Mgoyal,

Yes, if CI status is other than normal, it should be a static wheel and if it can be presented in that way then our customer will be very happy with omi product.

  • Hi,

Currently running software CI Type is a static icon and its border colour will be changed based on alerts if we set any HIs and KPIs.

Our requirement is to present CI Type icon with rotating wheel and should be stopped when critical alert generated ex: Weblogic server instance is a running software and in the top view, if any critical alert is generated on that CI then running wheel should be stopped with critical status.

Wheel rotating means there is no issue with the software process or application process running on that server and stopped means there is some issue with running software.

we are looking for change in presentation of running software instead of simple static icon with colour changes whenever there is an alert.

    Regards,

    Ashok

  • Hi,

Thanks for the idea but your request is not clear. The image icons are static images based on CI type while the CI status color is changed based on the worst status of a KPI of that CI. Different KPIs are calculated based on HIs or event severity. You can certainly modify the way KPIs are calculated and hence CI status and color. Isn't that sufficient?
