I used the form Actions but I had to hide the backup fields from the UI

All fields were copied properly except a date\time field, which was copied in the wrong format, can anyone help me, please?

I have a form action when the value of the 'received date' field changes then the action will copy its value to the 'received date original' field but the date\time format of the 'received date original' field is wrong as shown in this screenshot:

I solved it by adding a ModScript:

var record = Shell.Item(); // Get the current item

// Get the current value of 'Received Date'
var receivedDateValue = record.GetFieldValue("Received Date");

// Copy the 'Received Date' value to 'Received Date Original'
record.SetFieldValue("Received Date Original", receivedDateValue);

record.Update(); // Commit the changes to the database

I am glad that you got it resolved.  The ModScript is nice because you do not need to have the backup field on the form.

What is the use-case?  Do you need to have the "original value" present as a column in the primary table so that you can show it to the user?

If not, the original value will be present in the item's change history, but it would require some SQL or scripting to extract it.

PM Thompson  Yes there is an audit screen that the user will use to audit the original data and make changes as needed.
