We are currently running TeamTrack 6.6.0 on windows with a SQL 2005 db. We installed the new 6.6.1 admin client on a pc. When we try to connect to our db it asks us if we want to upgrade the db the 6.6.1 version. If we answer yes, what do we have to do to upgrade TeamTrack application server software on our application server?
Simply run the same 6.6.1 installer on the server itself to upgrade the software there to 6.6.1. Note that once the database upgrades to 6.6.1, it will only be valid with 6.6.1 software, so you'll want to make sure your server is running 6.6.1 before you upgrade the database to 6.6.1.
AJ, Thanks for the info. I'm a TeamTrack "Newbie", is the 6.6.1 installer the same installer used for the admin module on the client PC? ...Or do I need to download another installer for the application server?
We upgraded from 6.5 to 6.6.1 and the upgrade was suprisingle seamless. We had backed up our db (sql 05) prior to letting TT 6.6 upgrade the db (in case anything broke.) The db was upgraded in a few minutes and the new version was up and running in no time.
Yes, TeamTrack has just the one installer. There may be different options you can take at install time (complete, notification server only, etc), but for your server, just make sure the complete install is checked - if it even asks: as an upgrade, I believe it will know to install all components.
