Need to merge multiple phases in change request workflow

There are lots of phases in change request workflow so we want to remove or merge into single phase(2-3 phases) to avoid user multiple action.

I recommend create a new workflow of change with less phases and use the new change workflow after verification.

Actually it is in production environment so we can't create new workflow . Please share any alternate solution how to achieve this.

I don't think we can change the phases in working workflow.

There are too many thing related to workflow.
