Hi Pyneni,
I might not be totally understanding what you are looking for when you say without article. In the doc portal there is examples for how to update a Person by using an Offering:
https://docs.microfocus.com/doc/SMAX/24.3/wowOfferingPeople
This then details how the Catalog Offering would be designed to allow Users to submit this via the Service Portal.
So it depends what you mean by guiding through the submission process. I've made the assumption you mean submitting a Service Portal request and then showing the actual behind the scenes of what that entails to make it work.
There is also the pages that fall under the Key Concepts that describe how SMAX is made up, breaking down each part to help describe what its for and how to use it.
https://docs.microfocus.com/doc/SMAX/24.3/KeyConceptsSMAX
So this would cover off topics like Service Catalog and Request.
Thank you for reply. The use case is, initially a new customer may not be aware of how to submit a request. it is better to provide the tour in the self-portal.
Hi Pyneni,
There is no generic OOTB How-to guide within the service Portal but there is the OOTB demo data that can be deployed into a SMAX tenant. That then has Offerings, Service Catalog content and Knowledge Articles that could be used to help familiarize how a new user can get used to using SMAX.
Otherwise if you're looking for something that a user can use within the existing Service Portal to help them understand how to create a Request, that is where you could create Knowledge Articles specific to how the Offering is meant to be used. Then it's tailored exactly to how the Offerings are made up and describe in detail what the User must do along with any key information they need to provide and give an overview of the Process that the User will expect to get from using that Service.
The same could be within the Offering itself by detailing exactly how to use that Offering and make sure the User Options have a really well defined set of display names with filtered lists etc.
The only other thing I'm thinking there is the SMAX trainings which give new customers/users a decent starting point on learning how to use SMAX. For example: Service Management Automation X Training (opentext.com)
So there is things that can be used its just a matter of what fits best in your particular Use case.
Thanks,
Dave
