We are pleased to announce the general availability of Service Support Manager (SSM) and Service Request Center (SRC). Enhancements in the release focus on improving user experience, updating the applications on the mobile client, and creating a stronger integration with other Micro Focus products.
Primary Features and Benefits of SSM 5.4
- Updated Relationship Explorer: The SSM Relationship Explorer has been updated and improved. The new interface leverages HTML5 functionality that results in an improved user experience.
- Micro Focus CMS Integration: You can now populate SSM’s CMDB with items such as servers, software, services, laptops, phones, or other CIs (configuration items) from a Micro Focus Universal CMDB (UCMDB) system. UCMDB is itself populated using the Micro Focus Universal Discovery solution.
- Improved ITIL Processes: Changes have been made to the SSM process apps to ensure they follow current ITIL standards. These include updates to the Incident, Problem, Change and Service Request apps.
- Remove and Hide in SRC: When you delete a service from the catalog, you can now select to either remove or hide the service from users. Removing the service deletes it from the catalog completely, and returns the associated project back to the list of available projects in Work Center.
