About constant value with character ENTER and SPACE

I have a constant value in flow A is consists of value and character ENTER or SPACE. Format like "         myvalue                    "

and create another flow B, then make A as sub-flow of flow B. 

Then check the constant value in sub-flow, the constant value is not changed, still "         myvalue                    ".

Is this designment?   the SPACE and ENTER will not be cut.

But if the constant value in flow A is all SPACE and ENTER. Format like "                                      " (no letters), then make A as sub-flow of B, check the value in sub-flow., the value is "", the SPACE and ENTER are cut.

So my understand is that when there is a constant value contains letters and SPACE and ENTER, it will not be cut.  while if constant value contains only SPACE and ENTER, it will be cut.

Is that right?

                    What you described looks like an expected behavior since at runtime the variable may look like an empty string which is different to null.

    I am not personally familiar of any document and the behavior is no necessarily as described.

    Use the marked button in the context inspector below to check how values are trimmed or not

    you can see above an enter space that was not trimmed while being the only character given to the input of the flow.

    1. Creating a new flow(flow A), input a new value into [Constant Value].
    2. Then create a flow(flow B),drag the value of flow A to flow B. Flow A turned to sub-flow.
    3. After dragging, the Constant Value of flow A would be gone.

    Please refer to the result about I tested it.

    • (1) If there are LF(enter character) , LF will lost.
    • (2) If there are some space character, space characters will lost.
    • (3) If there are LF and space characters, they will lost.
    • (4) If there are spaces and characters mixed , all the data will not be lost.
    • (5) If there are space, LF and characters, all the data will not be lost.
