AutoPass License Server mandatory with OO node licenses?

I am upgrading from 20.08 to 22.11. Is AutoPass License Server mandatory if I use OO node licenses? I see that it is mandatory for OO 2021.02 but not mandatory if you use OO 2021.02.P1 patch version. Is this still true for later versions like 22.11?
