can i create in dbdict a file that point to view and not a table in the same database ? or let say can i use a predefined database views within SM ?
thanks for your support,
please confirm steps to do this
1- create a view in oracle
2- create a new table using dbdict in SM
3- in the table windows, write the name of the view (alias is not mandatory)
4- click on "import new coluon from databse"
We didn't have to do #4.
We just created the dbdict with the same field names as the view. After SM created the table in the database, we went back into the dbdict record and modified SQL Tables section to point to the view name instead of the m1 table name and then just clicked OK or Save.
