Cause:

If you have ran an application upgrades in the past, there may be some temporary files left over from previous upgrade that need to be removed.

Solution: Purge existing upgrade files

To purge existing upgrade files, follow these steps:

  1. Type *aapm.upgrade.purge in the HP Service Manager client command line, and then press Enter.
  2. Select I’m done, and I want to remove the upgrade files completely.
  3. Click OK to proceed
  4. Continue with your current upgrade process.

Important Note:

It is necessary to perform a purge process, however SM 9.40 interactive upgrade guide misses this key step.

This step was added to SM 9.41 interactive upgrade guide.
