(SM) Support Tip: How to trace a specific user automaticaly.

How to trace a specific user automaticaly.

 (Windows and Web Clients Service Manager 9.3x and 9.4x).

When you want to trace a specific user you have two different possibilities:

1 – Setup debug parameters in the cfg file for a specific servlet (Problem : this needs in general to start a specific servlet and sometimes due to security restriction this is not possible)

2 – Use the System status to start a dynamic debugging (Problem : This needs to be connected in SM with admin rights to start the trace)

One more possiblity is to trace one specific operator automaticaly using these steps:

1 – Modify the login.DEFAULT format control

Go to the Javascript part and add this code

var rteNames = new SCDatum();

rteNames.push("index");

rteNames.push("text");

rteNames.push("string1");

rteNames.push("number1");

rteNames.push("name");

var rteValues = new SCDatum();

rteValues.push(2);

// You can modify this line by modifying the expression example : rteValues.push("<<DEBUG>>rtm:3 debugdbquery:999 httpdebug:1 sqldebug:2");

rteValues.push("<<DEBUG>>rtm:4 debugdbquery:999");

rteValues.push("system.status");

rteValues.push(15);

// Here the parameter that contains the operator to trace.

rteValues.push("falcon");

// RAD call to start the trace

system.functions.rtecall("callrad", new SCDatum(), "msg",   rteNames, rteValues, false);

Put operator()="falcon" for the add field.

2 - Open a new session using falcon operator and after the connection the session will be in trace mode.

3 - You can see these 2 lines in the log file that indicates that the session use debug parameters.
