SM and OMI integration

We have OMI 10.63 instance running with Load balancer setup and SM 9.40 in our environment.

We are now planning to integrate OMI with Service Manager and we want to know how we connect to OMI from Service manager.

1.          Should we use Load balancer URL for connectivity
2.         Which certificate we need to import to Service Manager, is it OMI GW server certificate or Load balancer       certificate since the integration to OMI is HTTPS

Please advise.

  • Hello Ramesh,
    Thanks for your question.

Please review the following link. You will need to select within the options to obtain the documentation that fits your environment and requirements best:

    Hope this helps.

  • Dear

I had checked this document allready.

It does not specify which URL to connect to when OMI is setup through Load balancer.

    MF document really sucks.

  • Hi ramesh9 ,

I would like to answer to one of quetsions:

Which certificate we need to import to Service Manager, is it OMI GW server certificate or Load balancer  certificate since the integration to OMI is HTTPS

If Service manager is SSO enabled & OMis HTTPS , please follow below steps:

Idea is : Import the OMi root certifcate to Service manager trusted keystore

Export the certifcate from Omi server in .pem format  & append it to cacert file used in HP Service manager for SSO which is placed in RUN directory (default path: <SM Install path>\server\RUN) , typically cacert file will be in 2kb, once you append it with pem file obtained from OMi server it will be of size 4kb or so.

You can also view the contents of cacert file present in SM RUN before & after appending it with pem file obtained from OMi using : C:\j2sdk1.4.2_04\jre\bin>keytool -list -keystore ./cacert

    Steps:

    1. Import the BSM root certificate to the Service Manager server trusted keystore.

<SM Install path>\server\RUN\jre\bin\keytool -import -alias OMISM -file <.pem file of your BSM root certificate> -keystore <SM Install path>\Server\RUN\jre\lib\security\cacerts -storepass <changeit>

    2. Make sure to provide the correct passwords of the certifcates used in Service Manager end & OMi end( OMi password typically remains default value as "changeit")

    3. Provide the same password in sm.ini file for below parameters:

    truststoreFile:cacerts
truststorePass:<use the one used in step 1>

    Thanks

    Neo
