SM9.4x Hybrid then back to Codeless and Codeless to Hybrid

If we choose to go from SM9.21 to 9.4x Hybrid, might we ever need to switch to Codeless?  If so, could we and how is that done?

Conversely, if we go from SM9.21 to Codeless, might we need to switch to Hybrid?  If so, could we and how is that done?

  • Hi Stacy,

First I want to clarify that currently it's not possible to:

    • Direct upgrade from SM7.1x/SM9.2x/SM9.3x without PDCP installed/SM9.3x with PDCP2 installed to SM9.41 Hybrid.

Second to answer your question to move from Hybrid to Codeless, we do have a really detailed documented (attached) for this process.

Third, once you move from Hybrid to Codeless at least on 9.41 it's not possible to revert back this change because codeless itself will convert all legacy data into codeless data.

It might be possible in the future if several customer require to revert back to Hybrid that development agrees some sort of process but that is against the road development wants to take SM.
