Does Service Manager provide best practices around managing out users, both contact and operators, out-of-the-box?

Never saw anything like this... I think this is closely related on how the company manage this topic..
So basically usually we have an integration with LDAP for authentication and you import user data to HPSM for contacts table... I personnaly like to have the same id for contacts and operator which I also like to be the same user used by LDAP, this is not mandatory but makes life easier.
For operators you can have as many profiles and templates as you want, and you can select them based on any contact's attribute like company, department, city, etc..
