We have come across an issue with installing Configuration Manager 10.01 on an Oracle 11gR2 database. During startup of a Configuration Manager 10.01 server connected to an Oracle 11gR2 (188.8.131.52.0) Database , the following error could be seen in the error.log:
Can't execute statement [create index IX1_CDM_LIST_ATTR_1322511440 on CDM_LIST_ATTR_PRI_1907570472(PATH, ATTR_VALUE, ATTR_NAME, CMDB_ID)], due to exception: java.sql.SQLException: [mercury][Oracle JDBC Driver][Oracle]ORA-01450: maximum key length (6398) exceeded
An 8K block was used for the index.
The root cause for this issue is that the maximum value of the index corresponding to the 8K block used is 3218, and not 6398 as it could be seen in the logs. This is caused by an Oracle bug that is detailed in the following link: http://www.oracle-ckpt.com/index-failed-to-create-with-ora-01450/
The solution is to upgrade the Oracle 11gR2 (184.108.40.206.0) Database to version 220.127.116.11.
