csv exports should work the same for Java UI and uCMDB Browser

Reports that include grouping are exported differently from Java UI than from the uCMDB Browser.

Support confirmed that current Browser behavior is implemented that way. It won't copy and paste data of 1st level into each line of 2nd level (aka how applet ui works right now).

The idea suggested is that the browser should produces the exports the same way as the Java UI.

Benoit

  • I got excited about your input Thomas but then my hopes were dashed.  Apparently there is a defect with the implementation of this feature you mention and it does not work in all cases.  This is the ticket that we are re-opening to get resolved (SD02588601)

I appreciate your input though!  We'll keep looking at this

  • Hello,

I think that the structure as mantioned above is not a bug.

There is a parameter called "Merge cells for folded CIs" (ucmdb_browser.merge_folded_cis) which changes the structure of the export just the way you want it to.

We have changed the Parameter to "false" and with this value every row contains the value of the folded CIs.

    Greetings,

    Maike

  • We agree this is a defect and it will be addressed in our next development cycle.  I've accepted it here just for completeness
