Scenario

Currently it must be the full path for each to be excluded directory defined.
This is cumbersome, error prone and confusing for all the directories which may exists.

Customer got a very diverse environment. For example "Transfer" folders need to be excluded like
this in override.ini:

now:

override.ini
[exclude]
dir=/share1/user/Transfer/NoData/transfer1/prepare
dir=/usr/local/makereadytotransfer/before/transfer/transfer3
dir=/share2/transferred

desired:

override.ini
[exclude]
dir=*transfer*

  • It already works like this. Regular expressions are not supported, but regular path wildcard characters (* and ? as asked in the idea) are supported.

    Here is an example: C:\Temp\LocalClient directory contains the local client installation. The following 4 variants of override.ini file all exclude this directory from scanning:

    1. [exclude]
      dir=C:\Temp\LocalClient
    2. [exclude]
      dir=*\LocalClient
    3. [exclude]
      dir=*\*alC*
    4. [exclude]
      dir=*alC*
