Environment

Fully containerized running SMAX/uCMDB 2021.05 CP 2021.05 on Openshift 4.5
Standalone Solr
Multi customer environment

Situation

CMS UI Advanced search works as expected. The problem is related to Quick search only. In the search log file, an error appears

2021-10-22 06:52:50,093 ERROR [Starter for "topology-search" (during Writer server startup). (customer 1, id name: Default Client)][CustomerId:1] - com.hp.ucmdb.search.UcmdbSearchException: [ErrorCode [-2147483648] undefined error code]
org.apache.solr.client.solrj.impl.HttpSolrClient$RemoteSolrException: Error from server at https://itom-ucmdb-solr-svc:8983/solr: Error CREATEing SolrCore 'customer1': Could not create a new core in /var/solr/data/customer1 as another core is already defined there

Cause

The problem is related to incorrect data or permissions under folder <NFS home>global-volumn/ucmdb/solr/

Resolution

1. Login the master node with root account

2. Stop Solr with

kubectl edit deploy ucmdb-solr -n <namespace>

And set the replicas to 0

3. Stop uCMDB server with

kubectl edit deploy ucmdb -n <namespace>

And set the replicas to 0

4. Wait until the Solr and uCMDB pods are deleted

5. Goto Solr index data folder, which locates in the <NFS home>global-volumn/ucmdb/solr/data/index. And remove all the files in this folder. If you can't find this folder, please run find / -name segments_h to get the Solr index folder.

6. Goto Solr folder, which locates in the <NFS home>global-volumn/ucmdb/solr/. And delete Customer_1  folder. In a multi-customer environment, other customer IDs may be affected. The same step needs to be performed for them

7. start Solr with

kubectl edit deploy ucmdb-solr -n <namespace>

And set the replicas to 1

8. Start uCMDB server with

kubectl edit deploy ucmdb -n <namespace>

And set the replicas to 1

9. Wait for reindexing to finish 100%

UCMDB:service=Topology Search Services. Method: printStatusReport
Reindexing status:  idle, last result {type=FULL, success=true, progress=100.00%, entriesIndexed=6917, entriesSkipped=0, entriesWithErrors=0, indexTime=4030, indexStartTime=...}
