What do the various status mean? Example, parsed*?
Different Status of components/imports found in Project Manager Window within Revolve:
The component or import is loaded into the project fully parsed.
Component has been partially loaded and should be reloaded so it is fully integrated into the database. It will be fully integrated into the database with the next project Make. An asterisk following this status indicates that the component encountered an error while loading.
To get this component out of parsed status and in LOADED status, a MAKE should be performed. If it remains in a parsed status, then suggestion to build a separate project with just this lone component to determine what could be causing the problem.
OUT OF DATE:
The component or import has a time/date stamp that is different from what Revolve has in its database of the last time the project was Made up to date, so the project needs to be made up to date by MAKE process, again.
Indicates that database file(s) for the component were located, however, they were created with an older version of Revolve. This component must be reloaded before analysis can be performed on its contents.
An error in the code was encountered during loading and caused an incomplete load of the database.
This could be due to the fact that a BMS was loaded as a COBOL component (as an example). Remove the component in question and re-add the component correctly.
Could also be due to the fact that the component has an erroneous preprocessor entry.
Indicates that 1) a designated preprocessor .dll is not available or 2) the designated preprocessor failed due to source code error.
To fix this, first ensure that the preprocessor is configured correctly. To do this, be sure the appropriate .dll is specified in the Parameters dialog (invoked by selecting the invalid component in the Project Manager and clicking Options...). The name that appears in the Preprocessor field should match the preprocessor .dll filename as it appears in the revolve\bin\ directory. If the appropriate preprocessor is available and the Invalid status still appears, examine the source code for possible errors.
The component or import was not found in any location that the project was searching through.
Reasons for NOT FOUND Status:
component or import was once added to project but now the source is no longer found at the location originally added to project
A new component was added, i.e. JCL, Cobol, or Assembler, and this component uses another component or import that wasn't found in one of the search directories that had been mapped out for the project.
The virtual drive letter has been "disconnected" from the machine that is being used. For example, the project was built using Y: which is a virtual mapping of \\servermachine\microfocus\prod\ however, Y: is no longer mapped on this machine.
How to fix NOT FOUND Status:
The administrator needs to determine if the source should have been removed from the location from where it was originally added from. If the component shouldn't have been removed, determine where it is and move it back to the original location.
add or add search (in ADD Components dialog box, highlight a folder, change TYPE to the type of component or import you want search this directory for, Press Add Search) to the location where the component/import now resides.
remap the virtual drive in one of 2 ways:
from DOS prompt:
net use y: \\servermachine\microfocus\prod\
from Windows Explorer:
go to My Network Places, locate \\servermachine\microfocus\prod\
right mouse on the location, "Map Network Drive"
