Problem:

When installed, Modernization Workbench automatically creates 5 default users in it's repository (usually Oracle), which allows 5 different workspaces to be created, one for each user.  Although each workspace allows multiple projects, there is sometimes a need to create additional workspaces beyond the initial 5 supplied.  How can this be acheived?

Resolution:

To create extra workspaces, the first step is to create new users within the Repository.

To do this...

Connect to Oracle DB repository using sqlplus program.
-              Open  DOS prompt
-              enter  SQLPLUS system/oracle

Then to run the script below.

-------

CREATE USER "RMWUSER1"  PROFILE "DEFAULT" -
IDENTIFIED BY "RMWUSER1" DEFAULT TABLESPACE "RMWOTHERSTBS" -
TEMPORARY TABLESPACE "TEMP" ACCOUNT UNLOCK;
GRANT UNLIMITED TABLESPACE TO "RMWUSER1";
GRANT "CONNECT" TO "RMWUSER1";
GRANT "DBA" TO "RMWUSER1";

-------

The example uses RMWUSER1 as a user name - this will need to be changed to a new name for example RMWUSER6, RMWUSER7 and so on.  Each time the script is run, a new user is created.

Please note that each user points to the default tablespace created during the initial installation of the repository.

The creation of an additional workspace can then be completed, against each new user from within the Modernization Workbench Administrator, as per the product user guide.
