With previous versions of Enterprise Analyzer, the Java parsing was done by a supplied Enterprise Analyzer(EA) plug-in called “Java add-on”. This was shipped with the EA product, but is not shipped with version 3.5. Where can it be downloaded from?
With the release of EA 3.5, the Java parser has been moved into the main EA product and is now part of the core product. This means that the Java add-on is no longer supplied with EA.
Any new workspaces that are created with the 3.5 product will automatically make use of the new Java parser.
If EA is being upgraded from an earlier version of the product, then the Java add-on that was supplied with the earlier product can continue to be used. In fact, if a workspace has been upgraded from an earlier version of EA, then the Java parsing will continue to be performed by the existing copy of the Java add-on.
Within an EA 3.5 environment it is possible to have new workspaces and upgraded workspaces. For the new workspaces EA will use the inbuilt Java parser. For workspaces that have been upgraded from pre 3.5 versions of EA, the old Java add-on will be used.
