What is the fastest way to invalidate a very large number of items (or ALL items) in a workspace ?

Resolution

The fastest way is to use  the "INVALIDATE WORKSPACE"  process.

- Open the EA Administrator tool and select "Inavlidate workspace" from the ADMINISTER menu.

NOTE : This will invalidate ALL sources within the workspace selected.

This process will cleardown all the workspace information but it keeps all settings and options and all customer created objects, for example clipper queries, etc.

This process will select all registered items, in all projects and invalidate them.

It is also possible to run this process in batch, via the Invalidate.bj.

An example is attached.

To use this example..

1. Unzip Invalidate.bat into a directory of your choice

2. Modify contents to match the installation environment and workspace name

3. Run from a DOS command line or via a scheduled windows task.
