Backlog sorting of "Releases" is based on date should be on Name of Release

....when you're sorting in Backlog you expect the "release" to be sorted alpabetacally....but no, no its sorting by date.

Our developers thinks this is wrong and not very logically.

Simple sorting by clicking on name of column should sort be alpabetically.

Answer from our developer(Evgeny).......

Thanks for the clarification.

I would expect a column to be sorted using information visible in the column itself. If someone wants to sort according to the "release start date", then it would be quite logical to have a column called "release start date" and sort by the column explicitly.

From MF support...........

Actually sorting by singe-value field “planned release” aka Release is working as designed.

The reason this field is presenting the values this way is because when ordering by Release it doesn’t use the Release name or the Release ID but the Release start date and it will order the entities ascending/descending by the Release start date. This is the design of references to Release entity.

R&D are suggesting to raise an Idea in the forum if you prefer this field to be sorting by Name
