Disable or hide external action by condition

Idea by  @Vitaliy-1

Inspired by the recent video from Octane Acadamy about External Actions and trying to implement it. But got the question if it possible to disable or hide external action based on condition/filter?

Use case:

We configured one-way sync of defects from Jira to Octane. Defects which came from Jira have custom fields Jira ID and Jira URL filled out in Octane. For defects which were created directly in Octane these fields are empty.

I want to add External Action "Open in Jira" for those defects which have non-empty Jira ID/Jira URL which uses Jira URL as  "url".
For those defects which has empty Jira URL it must be disabled or hidden. Is it possible / planned?

Hi @Vitaliy-1

we don't support any condition on external actions unless you want to exclude them in workspaces. Please submit an idea on the idea exchange portal for Octane.

The rest shouldn't be a problem with the URL value stored in a defect field you can refer to it by {entity.<name-of-udf>}.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Amir
