Mark Release as maintence release and able to automatic connect regression test

I would like to be able to plan a test or suite to all Releases which are Maintenance releases

eg. we have 4 maintenance releases a year on would like when Plan test to connect to all maintenance releases

So there should be a Release type field with different values like:

  • Maintenance release
  • Emergency release
  • Project release
  • etc

Then when test are selected as Regression test it should be possible to create a rule planning the Regression test/suites to all maintenance releases

for making life easier for test managers as well as testers

Hi @Jesper

1. Would it help to have a bulk plan capability where you can select multiple suites/tests and a release and click "Plan"?

2. Assuming we have this kind of rule, when would you expect it to run? What would be the trigger?

Thanks

Yes, automatic test planning:)

Trigger = Release set to maintenance release

Select MT/AT/TS where Test type = Regression and assign automatically to Releases tagged as Maintenance....for now and future Release tagged with maintenance

Regardless, we're planning to add the "bulk plan" capability 🙂
