Request UFT Warning status to be visible in Octane.

Request UFT Warning status to be visible in Octane.

When a UFT test completes with a status of "warning", it shows in Octane as "passed".  (Using Octane/test runner/Jenkins/MF application automation tools plugin/UFT 15 (UFT One)) There is no way to know that a warning was present other that looking at the logs or run results for the tests.

We are running hundreds of tests per regression execution and need some way to know if there was a warning, however we do not want the test to fail.  We simply want to know about the warning so as be able to look at the problem.

Ideally we would like a status that could display as warning, so we could identify these tests, but the test would follow all logic/business rules as if the status was a pass.

If this is not feasible, an alternative would be to allow us to filter based on error messages, as Octane will be displaying an error message when UFT encounters a warning.  This would at least allow us to isolate the tests that generated the warning so we can look at them further.

Hi @mar_mac

Would "Passed with warning" be a good name for this status?

Also you mentioned that this would be treated as "Passed".
We also have the option of treating it as "Requires Attention", would you prefer this? Or is is really something that should show as Passed in any coverage report?

Hi @yael

"Passed with warning" is perfect.  We want these tests to show as passed, as the functionality is intact, we simply have noticed something in the test we may wish to investigate.
