ALM Octane on a Single Sign-On configuration uses login ID rather than email address for fields that use user details when uploading entities (i.e., defect, test, epics, etc.) to ALM Octane using MS Excel. Using the login ID is not entirely useful for some department/companies if their login ID consist of numbers. No one remembers login ID of every user specially if it consist of 8-10 digits. It would be more sensible to use email address (at least) to which the defect will be assigned to, but not login ID. Or at least add a parameter in ALM Octane that gives the Octane admins the flexibility to choose which metric to be used when populating fields that uses user details.
