Should allow to create cross-entity rules

We have added a new phase “Blocked” both for User Story and Task entities and need to create rules to automate User Story blocking/unblocking as per the blocked Tasks under it.

  1. In 1st rule we are setting the User Story phase to ‘Blocked’ when any of the Task under it moves to ‘Blocked’ phase.
  2. The 2nd rule should be - when all the blocked Task/Tasks under a User Story are moved from ‘Blocked’ to any other phase, then the User Story should be moved to ‘In Progress’ phase.

We have checked this with Microfocus support team (SD02592225) and got update that is not possible in Octane currently as there is no possible way to create rules across two entities.

It is really needed to create this rule and also there could be several other scenarios where we would need to create rules across entities.

It should be possible (granted the transitions from the current phase to "Blocked" are set.

Hi,

We are already able to set the transition to 'Blocked' status, i.e. the 1st rule mentioned in the initial post

We need help to setup the 2nd rule:

The 2nd rule should be - when all the blocked Task/Tasks under a User Story are moved from ‘Blocked’ to any other phase, then the User Story should be moved to ‘In Progress’ phase.

Please confirm on this unblocking rule
