Should be able to choose if bulk update should send mail or not

Should be able to choose if bulk update should send mail or not

we have mail rules on different entities and when working doing bulk updates we often forget this

I wish users was asked if mail should be send if doing bulk updates so they could turn it off while performing it if not needed

Must have.

In jira they have checkbox in Bulk change screen - "Send mail for this update", so by un-checking this - users won't receive emails.

Hi @Jesper

The system cannot let the user decide whether to send emails or not as this is defined by the admin and in many cases must be enforced. If for certain cases users must be updated on changes, it doesn't matter if it is done for a single entity or bulk. enabling this will actually overpass the business rules.

note however, that there is a site param that enables disabling sending of emails for some maintenance cases done by the admin.

Jira is offering this....and we have experienced this many times when both working as admin and workspace admins.

The bulk update should temporary change parameter so e-mail is not send or it should be possible to create rule which prevents this - or with condition in business rules maybe....must be a solution??

Send e-mail ........Condition not on bulk update

Please don't decline this

Hi @Jesper

well, when you ask it like this i cannot really decline ... 🙂

In any case - we might consider an option to add to send email BR a notion of single or multiple update. This however should remain in the hands of the admin to set and not per user preference.

i will open this request for votes,
