Suite Runs to take Manual Test edits into account

Many times when we are executing a Suite Run, the Manual Test steps need to be edited. We edit the steps, but they are not taken into account with the current Suite Run. Can you please make a rule to propagate these edits to the current Suite Run? Otherwise we need to re-run it and mirror the steps and defects from the old Suite Run.

Hi @Rebecca2

Please confirm that this is the flow you are expecting to see:

1. Run a test run which is part of a suite
2. Update the test
3. See the changes reflected in the run steps while maintaining existing step results and linked defects

Yes this is correct. For #3 I am expecting the changes to be reflected in the current Suite Run

Thanks @Rebecca2

The last part (update runs without losing results) is a bit challenging so we'll probably start with the naive option - override the steps with the latest version. I hope this will be available in one of the next releases.

Thank you, this would be very helpful for our team!

Are there any updates on this? It would be great if we could take the Manual Test edits into account with existing Suite Runs. Thanks!

@Rebecca2 if we prevent the issue in the first place by allowing the user to say "in this suite run always use the latest version of the test that is available at run time" will it help?

This will not solve the issue since sometimes we like to edit test steps while we are running the suite run.
