Update run status when continuing a run and changing step status

Sometimes when you continue an existing run you change a step from passed to failed but the run status itself is not updated.

Why is this important, when it would it be used?
The tester may forget to update the run status.

If you were designing the solution, how would  you do it?
Suggest to update run status when continuing manual run and changing step status.

This is even more important when retesting defects, so once the impacting defect is retested, the tester should be able to go straight into the failed test run where the defect was raised and pass the failed step - thus increasing the pass rate of the testing according to the reality of defects being fixed and therefore the test now passes the criteria.
