ability to search comments

The Search functionality is limited to only the identified areas. As a user I would like to search all areas of the application, not a subset. The use case that came up was searching comments that were entered, which we were unable to do.

We have considered this functionality for a long time, The problem with the request is that since it will be a text search you will get back too many results to handle easily. The current search is not designed for that.

Can you provide the use case of searching in comments? this will assist to find the best solution for this. For example, do you know the Entity you search for a specific comment (like defect 1235), or by the comments you try to locate the entity....

To avoid too many resulkts the user can put a predicate to limit a search to comment or a specific field, i.e. “comment: XYZ”.

A lot of our users (>2000) would like to have ability to search comments.
