HPE SaaS hosted Octane - changing one's password

From what I've figured out, if a team is using Octane hosted on HPE SaaS, and and end-user wishes to change their password, they are essentially changing their SaaS account password. Correct?

That process is a bit cumbersome for someone who just bookmark's their Octane workspace URL and never really worries about the SaaS account layer.  For instance, they have to go a different URL (https://saas.hpe.com/en-us/home) which they may or may not even know about after their first login. Then they have a couple other steps to follow after that. It gets even more confusing if they are attached to more than one SaaS account.

It would be much easier if, once logged into their Octane workspace, they could click their profile avatar (far upper right), and proceed from there.

Re: HPE SaaS hosted Octane - changing one's password

This is correct - if you work with ALM Octane hosted in SaaS than you will not be able to change password or other user properties from withing Octane. this is by design and is also the same behavior for LDAP integration.  in SaaS, as well as in LDAP, the user managment is done by external application and not in Octane. Therefore we do not enable changes to be done to the user properties through Octane but only through the external user managemnt application. Once changes are done in SaaS Back Office, the changes are synched to Octane and the data is alligned.

Note also, that SaaS holds user details for all HP applications hosted in SaaS. Enabling changing it in Octane would impact other applications as well, which is not the expected functionality. This is why such changes (User details, Password etc) are at the higher level of user managment and will apply to all products on this SaaS Account that the user is registered to.

hope that clarifies the functionality,

Hi Sigal,

Could we perhaps link to the page where the user can change the password or at least a short help page which explains the steps to get there?
