ALM 11.52 and ALM 12.01 on same machine?

Dear All,

Does ALM 11.52 and ALM 12.01 can be used on same user machine?

One of my tester want to user ALM 11.52 and ALM 12.01 on his local machine. Is it possible?

--------------------------------------

I tried my ways but it is not working. ALM 11.52 is fine but when he use ALM12.01 it always ask administrative login. I mean Run as Admin for 12.01.

You should be able to access the ALM UI for multiple versions on one machine starting with ALM 11, I believe. Definitely with ALM 11.52 and beyond.

You would need to use two different instances of IE for this. I don't think you can have different tabs within a single IE session open against different versions.

Are you using a version of IE that is supported by both versions? Is your OS, SP, and bit level supported by both versions? Are you using 32 or 64 bit IE?

You can't have more than one version of the ALM Client registered on a single machine.

Hi

From memory you need to downlod the TDClient for each Version aand then run it prior to starting the browser

Thanks

Martin

I am using IE 10  which is supported by both ALM11.52 and ALM12.01.

With machine admin rights currently I am able to use both, but only problem is -

After installing ALM 12.01 with Admin rights and then tester open ALM12.01 with normal rights, then 'Initialization has failed. ' message appears.

looks like the normal user does have restricted privileges.

Try registering and install the ALM client  in shared mode and check if it helps.

Cheers

Ofcourse, you can use the various version of ALM in multiple tabs in the same IE Instance.

But most of the time you might face the .dll file missing errors, since each time you clear the %TMP%, the TD_80 folder will be created as you access the QC and some time's it may allways refer to one version of the ALM downloaded components...!!

Try your LUCK....!!
