ALM 11 - Specifying a from email address

Jump to solution

Hi there,

Our Site Admin Server Logs generate a lot of messages specifying the following message:

No "from" email address is specified for project 'Project_Name' - default address 'tduser' will be used.

How do you change the from email address at the individual project level to something more meaningful?

Thanks

Hi mrobr,

You can add the FROM_EMAIL_ADDRESS parameter to the DATACONST table of each project.
This parameter will configure the e-mail address used for automatic e-mails in ALM for the specific project you add it. The value given to this parameter should be an e-mail address to be used for automatic e-mails from this project.
For adding the parameter you can ask your DBA for assistance, but this simple SQL query should do the trick:

INSERT INTO DATACONST VALUES ('FROM_EMAIL_ADDRESS', 'Someone@server.com')

This query can be executed from ALM SA and should be executed per every project you would like to add an email address.

Hope this information helps!

Thanks,

Hristo
