ALM Analysis Graph Categories

Afternoon All,

SInce migrating up to ALM 12.53 my users have been prodding me about a new 'Feature' that has come to light.  When a graph is generated and it shows for example the tests in a release grouped by test set the groupings used to just be labeled with the test instance name.  Since the upgrade it shows the test instance name AND the test set ID nunber in brackets.  Similarly grouping by author brings up the logon name AND username in brackets.

Because the bracketed info is surplus to requirement and often means nothing to the reader they spend time amending the axis categories which adds time.

Has anyone found a setting to turn this behaviour off please?

Hello Mk_Tester,

We was reproducing your concern in our labs and we found the same behaviour. This ALM desgin was made in order to help to the user ti identify the tests with the id also.

So for now this behavior is expected in the application given that this is how ALM works

We really appologize for the inconvenients this will bring up

Annoyingly this is a backward step from QC 10  where this did not happen.  Given that the pretty graphs are mostly aimed at management, they have no idea what bracketed ID is and it confuses them and we have to spend time removing it for them.

It does the same for other entries like the Detected by or author by showing your logon name and your full name extracted from the admin site.

It should be re-designed such that you can choose to display just the Test ID or Just the Test Name OR a combination of both.
