ALM Text Search Any Performance Implications

Have moved this from another forum as advised.

We would like to switch on the Text Search facility within ALM, but have had some comments fed back that it may have potential database performance issues on the application. I have never known this to happen and have used ALM in it's various guises over a number of years Test Director, Quality Center & ALM and was just wondering if anyone has encountered any performance issues other than those that are naturally associated with allowing open context searches?

We have contacted HP who state there may be a very, very slight degradation and that's against the search and not the application, but would like to understand if anyone has encountered anything as HP are stating that the enabling is a simple task, but to disable is a manual labour intensive task?

Many thanks in anticipation.
