Business View Refresh Not Enabled

HP ALM 11.52 - often when using Business Views the Refresh and Refresh All buttons in Excel are disabled.  The users are logged in to ALM.  Why would this be happening?

Would you mind please let me know the MS excel version?

Is excel 32 bits or bits? Please open MS excel go to File> help

If the issue is just for one machine, are you able to reinstall the business view addin?

and see if that helps.

This problem occurs on many machines.  Sometimes if they close the workbook and re-open they are able to refresh.
