Cross-Project Customization Failing Verification - Entity Subtypes

Hi, I'm trying to apply the customizations I made in the template to the linked projects through cross-project customization and it seems everything passes in the verification process except the 8th category "Entity Subtypes". Here is the error I'm getting in the verification report -

8.Entity Subtypes

Name - Testing Activity, RESOURCES

Notes- Failed adding customization element to project: operation not supported. (Subtypes mismatch between projects. The template project might have extensions or test types defined which are not defined in the linked projects. The same extensions or test Types should be defined in the linked projects before applying template customization.)

Anyone have any ideas what's causing the verification error? Thanks for your time.

The error is pretty self-explainable: you should have exactly the same datatypes and lengths for each field in every entity of every project you are trying to apply customizations too. Therefore if in project A your "Testing Activity" field is defined as varchar(20) and in the project B it is defined as varchar(30) then you you have this mismatch. This error is thrown also when you use different user-defined fileds (UDFs) for the same thing in different projects, i.e. in project A you have TS_USER_01 designated for "Test Activity" and in project B the same stuff is stored in TS_USER_05.

One of the Alm patches inserted a new sub type into the entity table, which is fine for new projects but not fine for existing projects linked to a template. We had to go into the project database and insert the row exactly as it appears in the template. A quick compare on the ENTITY tables in the template and project will find the row you mentioned.

Thanks for your replies, I'll look into the databases for the projects I'm trying to customize from the template to see which row's I'll need to update in the schema. I'll post the solutions if indeed that is the case to fix this issue.

Repair Project solved the problem for me.

We had the same issue with the LeanFT test type.

From SIteAdmin, the "Verify" project did not find any errors. Did the "Repair" anyways, then went into the template project and was able to "Verify" and "Push" customization to the projects.

Thanks for the solution!!
