Go to the Grid View in TestPlan of the Quality Center. Atleast select the TestName and Type column from the column list. Filter the TestName which you want to convert from automated one to manual. For the selected TestName change the Type of the test from QuickTest_Test to Manual. Your qtp script will be gone but you will have all the design steps.

Thank You,

I forgot this tips :). in fact, you have de use replace from menu. You can not change it from test case details, or using grid view directly.
Sincerly.

Hi all. Thanks for posting this. I had a bit of a hard time understanding the instructions (perhaps a version thing). I'm in Quality Center 10, and here's what I did.

1. Select "View", then "Test Grid"
2. Right click the desired row to change.
3. Select "Update Selected"
4. Select the "Type" from the "Update in Field" dropdown.
5. Select "MANUAL" from the "Value" dropdown.
6. Click "Update".

Hope that helps.

Think it's not available anymore with ALM 11.0

I don't see the "Type" option mentioned in step 4 from Nole's reply. I am using QC11.0. Could someone confirm if this option is not available with QC11.0 anymore? Thanks!

That is confirmed by Qathirst's post. ALM is the same thing as QC.

In QC, there is usually always more than one way to skin a cat.  Try this:

UPDATE TEST set TS_TYPE='MANUAL' where TS_TEST_ID='xx'

Type is a version controlled field which doesnt show the option "Type" in Update field checkbox.

Is there any other way i can dind the solution?

Have someone finally found any solution to solve this? I have the same problem for QC 11.

  1. Select View menu -> Test Grid. It will display all the test cases in the system in a grid view.
  2. Filter and select the test cases that needs correction.
  3. Select Edit -> Replace
  4. In the Replace dialog, Select "Find in Field" as "Type"; Change the values as necessary
  5. Click Replace All
  6. Select View menu -> Test Plan tree to go back to the normal view.
