QC upgrade from 10 to 12

Jump to solution

Is it possible to upgrade our Quality Center from version 10 to 12 directly? Or we need to upgrade to version 11.5 first?

When I tried to install the version 12, the database schema upgrade failed saying that the upgrade from version 10 was not supported.

I'd like to know if there is a way to avoid the version 11.5, just to save some working hours.

Thanks for any help!

Direct approach is not possible. You cannot upgrade from QC10 to ALM12 directly. The supported way is to first upgrade to ALM11.x adn then to upgrade to ALM12. It is also recommended to be on the latest patch levels when you perform the upgrade.

As noted in the Installation and Upgrade Guide for ALM v12, to get from v10 to v12 you must first upgrade to v11.52. That is the only supported path. If you want to follow an unsupported path, that is ill-advised.

Can you please list down the issue we might face if we go with unsupported path i.e. direct upgrade from 10 to 12.

One of our client insisting to use direct approach.

Your answer will help justifying myself.

Many Thanks.
