URL to access a defect directly in Quality Center with SSL

Jump to solution

usually this link is working:

td://[ProjectName].[Domail].[Host]:8080/qcbin/Defects?Action=FindDefect&DefectID=[Defect ID]

Now we have upgraded from QC 11 to QC 12.53 and with QC 12.53 we have integrated SSL

We have replaced port 8080 by port 443 which is our SSL port.

The result is always http://[host]/qcbin/start_a.jsp instead of the expected  https://[host]/qcbin/start_a.jsp

Any idea what's going wrong?

We have already set the parameter SECURED_QC_URL with the value Y, this has had no effect in this case.

We have found the solution by ourselves. The correct syntax is

testdirector:[s]Host/qcbin,Domain,ProjectName,;defect:DefectID

Obviously the parameter [s] is needed when SSL encryption is implemented.

We are operating with defect linking between different projects and have solved this by using URL attachments with the shown content.
