Unable to email entity to User Group in ALM 12.20

Jump to solution

In Quality Center 11, users were able to dynamically email a project entity to a group of project users via the Send E-Mail feature. To do this, the user would simply select the entity, choose the "Send Email" option, then after clicking the "To" button, check the "View by group" option in the Select Recipients window, choose the desired group, click the "To->" button to add the group to the To: field of the message, then click Ok and send the message as desired.

For example, if a user wanted to send an entity to the project administrators and carbon the project manager, they'd select the TDAdmin and Project Manager group as shown.

Send Message to Selected ALM User GroupsSend Message to Selected ALM User GroupsIn version 12.20, when a user tries to preform this action, they get an error message indicating that the email addresses are invalid when they try to send an email to the user group. This issue can be reproduced in any project. Does anyone have any insight into why this feature no longer works?

Hello,

I reproduced the issue and this is working fine in 12.21

Could you please check the ALM patch level that you have?

Also please check the entire error message in the QC logs in debug mode.

There was a similar issue reported in other versions as you can see below

Hi Sue,

We are on ALM Enterprise v12.20.378.

The error message we're getting is "Some of the mail addresses are invalid. [TDAdmin] - No such user defined in the project. [Project Manager] - No such user defined in the project."

Please be aware this issue also exists in Version 12.21 Patch 01 (= 12.21.64).

No idea when it will be solved for this version.
