What are the REAL differences between HP QC 12.2 and HP ALM 12

What are the REAL differences between HP QC 12.2 and HP ALM 12 - I currently have HP ALM - Quality Center v11.5 and am not sure which version of the tool I should upgrade too nor do I understand the licensing implications (if any).  Any help is appreciated.

Hi,

In terms of licensing, there are no differences, as both use the same type of file. By features, ALM 12.20 has a Tech Preview for Testing Module in the WebUI, this is the big difference between them.

You can find the complete list of new features in -> http://update.external.hp.com/ALM/WhatsNew_Addins_Movies/index.html?StartTabIndex=0

My recommendation is to install ALM 12.20 because ALM 12 has some issues, we recommend to install versions 12.01 or 12.20.

Regards,

Alvaro.

The major difference is the availability of Cross project customization, Defect sharing, Lab Management, ALI integration and Project Planning and Tracking in ALM. QC edition does not offer those. It all depends on the way you use ALM and whether you do take advantage of those features or if you plan to.
