Workflow and customization back-up

Jump to solution

Hi,

Is it possible to take a back-up of the Workflows and Project customization without the need of having either taking the full project back-up or individually taking a back-up of workflow of each module by doing copy/paste?

Maybe you want to try this Excel utility. It can export ALM project customization to Excel.

Hello,

The workflow scripts are saved on the repository of QC, specifically on one folder named scripts, so you can search for that folder in the repository using filezilla

Open the Smart Repository with Filezilla following the instructions contented on the document inside this link:

Please make sure to download Filezilla client and not Filezilla server version.

To back up the whole project customization would be difficult, since that information is stored in so many different database tables. One possible, but perhaps a bit awkward approach, would be to take a copy of the project at regular intervals, but only copying the Customization part and none of the other data.

For the workflow, you can use the OTA API to download the workflow files to a local machine, then use a version control client to store them. This could be automated  through the workflow itself to some extent.

Hi Garychen,

Thanks for the utility which is very useful in getting the customization information. I'm however looking for a way to get the back-up of workflow code. Do let me know if you have anything similar for workflows.
